Is PIMSY Safe From Cyber Attacks?
by Leigh-Ann Renz, 5.17.17
In light of the recent cyber attacks on healthcare institutions, we’ve gotten some very valid and understandable questions about PIMSY’s safety and security.
Thankfully, when you’re a PIMSY customer, all of your data is stored in the secure and HIPAA-compliant Microsoft Azure Cloud. Azure adheres to all HIPAA protocols and is trusted by world-class companies such as Rolls Royce, GE Healthcare, and Geico.
Simply put, Azure is one of the most secure hosting environments available.
Additionally, while no software if immune to hacking, our application is far more secure than a typical browser based application because you have to download it and it’s compiled.
Remember, most hacking takes place in email and web browsers; and the main PIMSY application is not browser-based. It’s also good to know that we don’t store data locally and all transactions are encrypted at least once.
You can see more about PIMSY’s security features on our HIPAA blog / Resource Center – and of course feel free to contact us directly with specific questions.
If you’re a PIMSY client, hopefully this helps to ease your mind a little. If not, this is just another reason to choose PIMSY, your comprehensive, flexible and affordable EHR solution!
