EHR and practice management for mental / behavioral health

What Is Meaningful Use?

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), the federal government launched the HITECH program, which provides stimulus incentive funds for demonstrating Meaningful Use of certified EHR (electronic health records) such as PIMSY Platinum. Eligible Professionals (EPs) may qualify for up to $44,000+ in incentive funds under the HITECH Act. (CMS is retiring the 2011 Meaningful Use Edition as 2014 Edition / “Stage 2” goes into effect).

PIMSY Platinum is 2014 Edition / “Stage 2” Meaningful Use certified. This means it is capable of supporting eligible providers with meeting the Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for these incentive funds. Click here and see the articles below for more information – some articles are available as white papers that can be downloaded.

Technical or Practical Limitations

Users of PIMSY have to be on a Windows platform – or use Parallels or another comparable interface to utilize Windows. They must have reliable internet connectivity: click here for internet speed requirement details.

Direct messaging can only be sent to other direct email addresses. For example, you wouldn’t be able to email “yourclient”, as gmail is not a direct email address; anyone you send PHI to via direct messaging will need to have their own direct email address. Click here for details.
