Meaningful Use Funds: Whose Money Is It Anyway!?

Making Sense of MU for Mental Health

Did you know that the incentive funds received from Meaningful Use technically belong to the provider and not to your practice!? Even though the provider obviously could not have attested to MU without the certified EHR that the practice provided, the funds are processed per eligible professional (EP).

If you have not already done so, be sure that a contract or letter of understanding is drafted, assigning the grant money to the organization for all 6 years.

Is all of this Greek to you? Check out Meaningful Use 2014: Use It or Lose It! for details about MU and especially how it applies to mental / behavioral health and substance abuse providers. More tools and information are available in our MU Resource Center.
