It’s hard to believe, but PIMSY’s been serving clients for a decade!! We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary, and couldn’t be more proud of our team, product and services. While we now serve clients in 40 states (!?!?), PIMSY mental health EHR was grown right here in North Carolina. It was literally created by and for NC behavioral health care providers. Due to market demand, we’ve recently added some North Carolina-specific functionality to serve our home state clients even better:
Authorization tracking in PIMSY is extremely simple + efficient. PIMSY keeps up with when authorizations run out or expire – and it auto-decrements units as you complete your notes. PIMSY alerts you when auths are expiring or getting ready to run out of units. You control when and how often you want to be reminded (by expiration date, number of units left, etc).
PIMSY can even handle authorizations that are grouped. Sometimes, payers will offer a group of codes together, for example: 3-4 different codes that share units. This can be challenging to manage and keep track of. In PIMSY, providers simply attach those codes to a group, so that they don’t decrement individually, but rather from the group of codes as a whole.
This high-level type of authorization management that PIMSY offers is helpful for all clinicians: it’s one less thing to keep track of in an industry that’s reimbursing for less and less time. It’s especially beneficial for states that have MCOs, as the auths are essentially permission from the payer to provide services.
MCOs give that permission within the specific metrics of the auths. If you see clients outside of those auths, you don’t get paid! PIMSY helps make sure that you don’t conduct treatments you won’t get reimbursed for: it literally won’t let a clinician perform the service or use that CPT code until you get a new auth.
Keep Your Staff Accountable
If clinicians can’t perform services without a valid authorization, it holds your staff accountable for keeping up with their notes and administrative tasks. PIMSY offers many ways to empower your staff to be responsible for their services. Authorization management is just one of many methods with which PIMSY can help manage your employees.
We’ll be sharing more ways that PIMSY can support clinicians not only nationwide, but especially in our home state of NC. Stay tuned for more about cool features that especially serve our customers here at home.
