PIMSY + Paws 4 Soldiers
PIMSY Mental Health Community Investment
PIMSY mental health EHR is excited to support even more local mental health community involvement! Paws 4 Soldiers (P4S) is a 501c3 non-profit organization owned and operated by Veterans in North Carolina. P4S works with Veterans who may suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), limited physical needs such as bracing and balance, and more. Paws 4 Soliders matches Veterans with service dogs that assist their Activities of Daily Living in addition to providing emotional & psychological support.
Paws 4 Soldiers
P4S was founded in 2012 and obtained 501C3 non-profit status in 2015, with Veterans and volunteers comprising all board members. This means that all funds go toward the Veterans and their dogs, and that there are no fees to participate in the P4S programs: there is no cost to the veteran! The crate, toys, leashes, collars, and service vests are all free.
P4S has no waiting list, and training is done on the Veterans’ time, giving them a lot of control over the training, input, choices and options. This empowers participating Veterans to have a voice in P4S and be a part of the program, not just a client or a number.
Veterans that need a service dog that do not already have one will be matched with a dog free of cost, veterinary spay or neutered, shots, rabies and microchip is taken care of free of cost. Addtionally, the supplies are taken care of as well.
PIMSY is honored to support P4S and their important work. Click here for more information about Paws 4 Soldiers.
