Some of our clients have come up with great questions about how SayIt works and how it might enhance their practice. FAQs about SayIt for Behavioral Health
“Is there a limit on how many devices I can use SayIt on?”
There is no limit on the number of devices, and your profile spans across the various platforms you use.
"I had a horrible experience training with a different speech recognition company. How long does the training take, and how complicated is it?"
SayIt is speaker independent, and there is no voice profile to train. The setup is simple, and you can begin dictating in minutes.
"How hard is it to get SayIt to recognize my voice?"
SayIt's advanced functionality means that you don't have to work to get it to recognize your voice; it easily handles various accents and speech cadences. The biggest task is getting it in sync with your volume levels.
SayIt works as a speech overlay technology which converts speech to text for dictation, and/or command and control. Simply launch the SayIt cloud-based client, direct your cursor where you would like to insert text, and speak your notes. Spoken words will be converted to text and stored directly in PIMSY.
Additionally, you can use SayIt voice commands to navigate and populate discrete data fields, or SayIt “pop-up” shortcuts to access dropdown menus by click or touch.
“What about (unavoidable) errors when I’m dictating?”
SayIt has a very shallow (is easy to learn) learning curve: once you add commonly used words or acronyms to your vocabulary list, SayIt will prevent common dictation hiccups like "PCP" or names that might be mispronounced. For anything that doesn't transcribe correctly, you can easily listen to what you've said, to help understand why it didn't work the way you intended and adjust the way you're using the software. "What kind of hardware do I need to use SayIt?"
SayIt can be accessed by devices running Microsoft Windows or Mac OSX. An Internet connection is required for real-time use. It works on a home PC, work laptop, iPad (remove iPad), iPhone, etc.
“Do I need to purchase a microphone with SayIt?”
For most computers and tablets, SayIt performs best with an external microphone; a wide variety of mics and headsets are supported, including wireless capabilities for the iPhone and Android devices. Get all the details on our list of approved audio devices.
"Are there templates available in SayIt for notes, treatment plan, etc?"
There are 3 standard workflow optimization templates created specifically for PIMSY – SayIt users, and they are easy to customize: Treatment Plan, Assessment Note and Progress Note. It is quick and easy to create additional templates within SayIt.
"How much RAM does SayIt use? I don't want to slow my system down with a big application."
SayIt uses about 33 MB, less than GoToMeeting. It shouldn't slow you down or interfere with your bandwidth.
"Working with PIMSY and SayIt both, who handles any Support issues?"
If you need help with PIMSY itself, you'll contact PIMSY Support. If your inquiry is about SayIt, you'll contact the nVoq team. That being said, SayIt is very ease to learn, use, and most of our clients don't need much support.
