BluePay is one of the first companies to pioneer the tokenization process. What this means is that, once a practice processes a transaction through the BluePay system, BluePay will store that information securely offsite in their data bases. The practice / “merchant” can always reference a past transaction; pull the client / “customer” profile and run a future transaction; process a refund or void; setup recurring billing; and more – all from the original transaction.
The credit card number will be truncated, except for the last 4 digits, and the “merchant” will never have access to the full credit card number again, enhancing security and compliance. This tokenization process alleviates the need for the practice to have to keep asking their patients for credit card information – and eliminates the need for them to store that sensitive financial data in their systems, where it could be compromised.
