NC PCP: North Carolina Person-Centered Plan
Several states require mental and behavioral health care providers to maintain a treatment plan for clients that is person-centered. It’s called a Person-Centered Plan, or PCP, and North Carolina’s (the NC PCP) is very extensive.
Without an approved PCP, the state won’t give clinicians authorizations to bill for residential, IOP, intensive in-home – any services that are more in-depth than outpatient mental health. This is obviously crucial for any practices receiving funding through an MCO, such as Medicaid or Medicare.
Many states have a very specific document that guides providers through creating a PCP. The process can be time-consuming, frustrating, and if it’s not completely accurate, ultimately rejected.
PIMSY Embedded NC PCP
After years of effort on the part of our development team, PIMSY has an embedded NC PCP. As far as we can tell, no other mental health EHRs offer this vital feature. Our customers have successfully submitted the PIMSY PCP: it’s been accepted by at least two North Carolina MCOs by now, if not more.
The process in PIMSY is uber simple; it’s similar to how our Automatic Form Filler works. Most of the information is automatically pulled from the client’s chart: demographics; diagnoses; contacts; medications & allergies; etc. The only thing clinicians have to do is add are the goals, interventions, etc – and submit the document to the state.
Locally Grown
The NC PCP is just one of several ways that PIMSY is a great fit for North Carolina mental, behavioral, and substance use agencies. While PIMSY serves customers in almost every state, it was initially created by and for NC clinicians. Due to local market demand, we’ve added some North Carolina-specific functionality to serve our home state clients even better, such as advanced authorization management.
