Your patients are on video. Your notes shouldn’t be somewhere else.
PIMSY keeps video sessions, documentation, and billing in the same window. When the session ends, the note opens automatically, no tab-switching, no copy-pasting session details into a separate chart.
A separate app for the session, the EHR for the note, and memory for everything in between.
Here’s how telehealth works for most behavioral health clinicians today. A patient gets a video link via email. The clinician opens the video app, opens their EHR in a separate tab, and tries to document while talking. The session ends. They close the video app and start typing what they remember into a note form that has no idea a session just happened.
That’s two tools with no connection to each other. The clinician is the integration layer, doing the work that software should handle. It costs 15-20 minutes of documentation time per session, and that adds up.
PIMSY telehealth eliminates that gap entirely. The session lives inside the EHR. When it ends, the note is already started.
-
No more copy-pasting session details from a separate video app into your EHR -
No separate telehealth account to log into, pay for, or manage -
No emailing patients a link or hoping they can figure out a third-party platform -
No documentation gaps because the session and the note are in the same workflow -
No billing confusion about whether a telehealth session was documented and ready to submit
Everything you need to run sessions, nothing you don’t.
PIMSY gives you a complete telehealth setup that’s included at PIMSY. Not a trial version, not a limited feature set. The same video platform your clinicians use for individual sessions is also built for group therapy. Choose between Jitsi/8×8 for a built-in option or SecureVideo for a premium experience.
Your clinicians run the entire session from within PIMSY. Waiting room, session controls, documentation, all in the same interface. Patients join from the client portal with one click, no downloads required.
From booking to signed note in one workflow
Telehealth in PIMSY isn’t a separate module you configure. It’s part of the same scheduling and documentation flow your team already uses.
Patient books via self-scheduler or client portal
Patients pick a telehealth appointment from your available slots directly in their client portal or through the self-scheduler on your website. No phone call, no link to send separately. They book it, and it’s on the calendar.
Automated reminder delivers the join link
Before the session, PIMSY sends an automated text and email reminder via Twilio. The join link is included. Patients click it, enter the waiting room from their browser, and the clinician admits them when they’re ready. No app download, no account creation.
Clinician runs the session, Ambient Scribe drafts the note
The clinician runs the video session inside PIMSY. With Ambient Scribe active, the session is recorded and a note draft is generated automatically using the same templates as in-person sessions. Review, edit, sign. Done. Billing can run from the same record.
Telehealth is one piece of the picture
PIMSY connects every part of your clinical and administrative workflow. Telehealth sessions feed directly into notes, billing, and the client record.
Telehealth questions, answered
What video platform does PIMSY use?
PIMSY offers two options depending on your practice’s needs. The Jitsi/8×8 integration is a built-in HIPAA-compliant option that’s well-suited for practices that want a solid telehealth solution built in. SecureVideo is the premium option for practices that want a more full-featured cloud-based telehealth platform. Both are integrated directly into PIMSY, so clinicians and patients access video through the EHR rather than a separate application.
Do patients need to download anything to join a session?
No. Patients join their telehealth sessions directly from the PIMSY client portal in a web browser. There’s no app to download, no account to create on a third-party platform, and no login separate from the portal they already use to manage their appointments. They click the join link from their reminder text or email, enter the waiting room, and the clinician admits them. That’s the entire process from the patient’s side.
Is PIMSY telehealth HIPAA compliant?
Yes. PIMSY is a HIPAA-compliant EHR, and telehealth is part of that compliance posture. Video sessions use HIPAA-compliant infrastructure through the Jitsi/8×8 or SecureVideo integrations. PIMSY is also ONC-Certified and 42 CFR Part 2 compliant for practices providing substance use disorder treatment via telehealth. Your patients’ protected health information is secured at every stage of the session and documentation workflow.
Can we run group therapy sessions over video?
Yes. Group telehealth is a core part of PIMSY’s video functionality. Multiple participants join the same session, and clinicians have full session controls including waiting rooms, breakout groups, and chat. Group notes connect directly to the session, and multiple facilitators can be attached to a single group. For practices running IOP, PHP, or structured group therapy programs, this means your remote group sessions work the same way as your in-person group documentation workflow.
What happens if a patient has connection issues during a session?
If a patient drops from the session, they can rejoin by clicking the same join link from their reminder or returning to the client portal. The clinician retains control of the session room throughout. For persistent connectivity issues, the session can be completed by phone and documented in PIMSY using the standard note templates, since the note workflow doesn’t depend on the video session staying active. Your support team and PIMSY’s US-based support staff are available to help troubleshoot if a technical issue requires more than a simple rejoin.
Does telehealth work on mobile?
Yes. PIMSY is mobile-friendly for both clinicians and patients. Clinicians can run sessions from a tablet or smartphone when they’re not at their desk. Patients can join from their phone’s browser without downloading an app. This is particularly useful for patients with limited access to a computer or who prefer mobile devices for their sessions. The note templates and session controls are accessible from the mobile interface as well.
